Jason has been a Texas and Arkansas trial lawyer since 2003. He began his legal career as an associate at a Texarkana civil law firm, handling everything from complex class action and business litigation to personal injury, criminal law, family law and probate matters. Jason then narrowed his legal focus to one of his favorite areas of law- criminal trial and appellate work. After becoming a named member of Harrelson, Horton & Matteson, Jason decided to continue his law practice on his own by forming the Jason Horton Law Firm in 2010. While Jason does handle some civil work, the majority of his practice is dedicated to representing those charged with crimes in Texas and Arkansas state and federal courts.

Jason defends criminal cases in Texas and Arkansas state and federal courts. Jason has handled legal matters in the following federal courts: the Eastern District of Texas, Texarkana, Marshall and Sherman Divisions; the Southern District of Texas, Houston and Corpus Christi Divisions; the Western District of Arkansas, Texarkana Division; the Eastern District of Arkansas, Little Rock Division.

Jason has handled legal matters in the following state courts: Texas state courts in the following counties: Bowie, Cass, Red River, Franklin, Henderson, Gregg, Grimes, Morris, Titus, Upshur, Marion, Rusk; Arkansas state courts in the following counties: Miller, Lafayette, Columbia, Little River, Sevier, Pike, Hempstead, Howard, Nevada, Bradley, Benton, Washington, Union; and appellate work in the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, the Texas Sixth Court of Appeals, and the Arkansas Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.

Jason graduated Valedictorian from Iola High School in Iola, Texas. He attended Texas Lutheran University on a PACESETTER Scholarship, started as running back on the Texas Lutheran University football team, and graduated with honors in 2000. He was awarded a scholarship to attend Texas Tech School of Law, graduating with honors in 2003. Jason is married to Texarkana native and the two enjoy traveling, live music, remodeling older homes and being outdoors.
